Anoka County Government Center

Anoka County was formed when Sherburne County was detached from Benton County and a small strip of Ramsey County was legislated to become part of the new county of Manomin. It functioned as an organized county until abolished and attached to Anoka County by constitutional amendment November 2, 1869.

The first courthouse was completed on the present site of the county courthouse in January 1898. Since then there have been many changes and additions to the Anoka County Government Center and other buildings that host the varied services offered by Anoka County.
